Privacy Policy

This policy explains what this website collects, why, and what happens to it. It covers this site only.
What the contact form collects
This site has three forms, and they are the only places where you enter information about yourself: the contact form, the service center finder and the unlock form. The contact form asks for:
- Name
- Email address
- Company or institution
- Country
- Industry
- Subject of the inquiry
- The models you are asking about, when the subject is sales
- Your message
What the service center finder collects
The service center finder asks for what is needed to locate the nearest one and send you its details:
- Country, region and city
- Whether you own a LIBY device
- Serial number, if you own one
- First and last name
- Email address
- Phone number
What the unlock form collects
The unlock form asks for three values, all of them printed on the lock screen of the device in front of you. It does not ask for your name, your email address or any other way to identify you:
- The device serial number
- The Certified Time (CT) value shown on the lock screen
- The Usage Counter (UC) value shown on the lock screen
What we record alongside your submission
Together with any of the three forms, we store the IP address the request came from, the browser user-agent string, the language version of the site you used, and the date and time.
The IP address serves two purposes: it limits how many submissions a single source can send in a period of time, which is what keeps the forms from being used for spam, and it helps us investigate abuse. It is not used to build a profile of you.
On the unlock form we record every attempt, whether or not it produced a code, and we store the code that was issued. We keep the code because it is the only way to answer someone who later tells us it did not work. The three values you enter describe a device rather than a person, but they become information about you if the device is yours.
Why we process it
For the contact form and the service center finder: to read your inquiry and reply to it, and to keep a record of business inquiries received.
For the unlock form: to obtain the code that releases your device, and to detect and limit abuse of that page. Because the page is open to anyone, the record of attempts is what allows us to notice someone working through serial numbers that are not theirs.
We do not sell this information, and we do not use it for advertising.
Where it goes
Contact and service center submissions are stored in our database and a notification is sent to our team by email so that someone sees the inquiry. The email provider processes the message on our behalf and for no other purpose.
The unlock form works differently. The three values you enter are sent to the company that operates the security system built into the device, which is the only party that can produce the unlock code. That provider may be located in another country, and this transfer is what the form exists to do — without it there is no code. No notification email is sent, and nobody on our team reads your request unless we are investigating abuse.
The security check on the unlock form
The unlock page loads a security check from Cloudflare, called Turnstile, to tell a person apart from an automated script. It loads on that page only, and it loads before you are asked anything, because the form cannot accept a submission without it.
To run the check, your browser contacts Cloudflare directly and Cloudflare receives your IP address and technical signals about your browser. When you submit the form, our server sends Cloudflare the result of that check together with your IP address so it can confirm the check was genuine. Cloudflare may store a cookie in your browser as part of this.
This is a security control, not measurement: it is not used to count visits, to build an audience or for advertising, and it does not run on any other page of this site.
How long we keep it
We keep inquiries for as long as needed to handle them and to maintain a record of business correspondence. You can ask us to delete yours at any time.
Unlock attempts are kept as a record of use of that page. Deleting them early would remove the count the abuse limits depend on, so a request to delete one is handled case by case rather than automatically.
Cookies and analytics
This site does not load analytics or tracking scripts before you allow them. When you make a choice in the cookie banner, that choice is stored locally in your browser so we do not ask again; it is not sent to us and it does not identify you.
If you accept, we load Google Tag Manager, Google’s tag container, which may set measurement cookies in your browser. It is not loaded before you accept.
If you decline, no analytics script is loaded at all.
One thing does load without asking, and only on the unlock page: the Cloudflare security check described above. It is there to stop that page being used by automated scripts, not to measure anything, and the form cannot work without it. If you would rather not load it, do not use that page — everything else on this site works without it.
Your choices
Use the contact form to ask what we hold about you, to correct it, or to have it deleted.
You can change your cookie choice whenever you like: “Cookie preferences” at the bottom of any page reopens the notice. If you switch from allowing to declining, the page reloads so the measurement script stops running immediately — cookies it already left in your browser are cleared from the browser itself, like any other site’s.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version is published on this page with a new date.
